I know Ms. Haley-Colon from my wife hiring her to tutor our daughter, Isabella. Izzy was about 12 years at the time (she's graduating this year!) & was having trouble in her 6th grade language arts class. Ms. Haley was very helpful & treated Izzy like she was already smart, we just needed to access it. Another tutor has made her feel that since she needed a tutor she must be dumb, & I was hesitant hiring anyone else outside our family to help her. But Ms. Haley was superb & they still talk to this day. Izzy will be leaving for FSU next summer, in part because of the aide from Ms. Haley & her ability to bring out in Izzy an appreciation of stories, poems, & even vocabulary words she didn't have before. She's a great tutor!

I met Joanne in Germany where I am from & where my husband was stationed in the Army. Joanne was stationed there too & we got to know each other through chapel events as she was the Bible study teacher & led the chapel's women's programs ( I am sorry I don't know the English word for that). She was super nice, very supportive, but didn't act like she is better than anyone. She was a humble person who always had a smile no matter what was happening. I am pleased to give her a recommendation for tutoring, I can't imagine a better teacher whether adult or child! She is a "liebling" - a sweetheart!

Joanne is a very caring and understanding person, and a patient teacher who gives her all in everything she does. Her passion for teaching children goes beyond the classroom and pays off more than expected in tutoring. She can help children learn in a fun and different way than most other people in her profession, which makes a lasting impact on a student in need of a little extra attention in certain subjects. She helped my nephews learn and excell in their worst subjects at school, turning their grades into A's instead of D's, something I wasn't sure was even possible at first. But her attention to detail and her ability to explain things the way a child needs is unsurpassed by any other tutor or teacher I've ever seen before, and I cannot thank her enough!

Miss Joanne tutored my son for 2 years in reading, social studies, language arts, & some electives. Her compassion, patience, & professional attitude made leaving my only child in her capable hands much easier! I wish i could've afforded to give her $100 an hour! Any parent who has a socially challenged child (or any child for that matter!) can rest easy knowing she has the child's best interests at heart.
