About Rahavie

I am English-speaking Canadian and have been living in Avignon for 5 months. English teacher in France, graduated from the University of Toronto in English literature and French, I also hold a CAPES and a MEEF Master in English from the University Jean Jaurès in Toulouse. I taught in middle and high school, and now offer private lessons online, at home, or in a café in downtown Avignon.

As a teacher, I helped my students to speak fluently in English, and I also helped my Terminale students who were having difficulty obtaining their BAC in English, with good results.

I offer courses for tutoring as well as for people who want to improve or improve their English in the context of their work (job interviews, presentations, technical vocabulary, ...) or for pleasure, for example in the context of a future trip abroad.

About the lesson

For the first class, I suggest that we get to know each other, then that we discuss together your strengths, your weaknesses, your possible concerns and your objective (to hold a private, professional conversation, to pass a competition, etc.).

As an English teacher in middle school and high school in France, I have acquired some professional experience and I am familiar with the methodology used. I can therefore rely on the textbooks you use in class, or I can offer you my own materials adapted to your level. I can prepare you for the competitive exams or the BAC by accompanying you throughout the school year.

For professionals, I can help you improve your communication in business, by working on your oral and / or written expression (emails, writing reports, presentations or interviews).

My methodology is to teach the basics: communicate, listen, read and write. In addition, each course focuses on improving skills, which includes: oral and written comprehension and expression and social interaction. In addition, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar are obviously incorporated during the lessons. When it comes to media, I use a variety of audio, video, series, and I rely heavily on current events.

I came to France to improve my French, so I can relate to your fears and frustrations. I am attentive and available to support you in your progress, for the short or long term. [NOT]
