About Feriel
I'm an English teacher and I have been giving lessons in this subject since 2019. Now I teach a class of 25 pupils more or less divided according to their ability. I improved my students’ noncognitive skills—which include motivation and the ability to adapt to new situations, as well as self-regulation—had important impacts on them: They were more likely to have higher attendance and grades and to graduate than their peers. Concerning my teaching strategy it is summarized in the ESA technique; engage, study, activate.

I have always wanted to be a teacher, even as a child. The gift of teaching allows me to be in a true helping profession. Moreover, I teach the primary grade levels in my class. My teaching philosophy is simple. I use a hands-on technique and am approachable to my students. I incorporate fun into my lessons when possible. And while my easy-going style is suitable for many subjects and grades, I am also able to adapt my style to the needs of the student. For instance, if I have students that are not comfortable with independent learning, I employ the facilitator style of teaching that calls for a student-centered learning approach. My colleagues generally say that I am fun but tough, and I think their assessment is accurate. My approach to tutoring is that I tailor my tuition to the needs of the kids. I vary my style depending on the ability and needs of the children. I aim to run my tuition in support of the progression of my children through their subject syllabus, but I am also willing to progress more slowly and focus on particularly weak areas if the pupil so desires. I will also offer pre-exam revision sessions for all exams including modular resits and conduct end-of-topic tests and mock exams should the kid desire.
