About Estrella
I am a graduate in Modern Languages and Translation. I have taken two courses of Spanish as a Foreign Language and I have an advanced English certificate (C1), both in the APTIS modality, such as Cambridge and British Council. I have 4 years of experience teaching private English classes, both individual and group. Not only have I taught children, I have also taught English to adults, so I have learned to adapt easily to the needs of each individual and to different levels and types of exams. In addition, I have taught extracurricular classes in a school in Alcalá de Henares during an entire course to small groups of students between 8 and 9 years old and children's groups. I have worked with adults and children, so I have gradually acquired the ability to use different teaching methods. With children I use dynamic and didactic methods in which children acquire the foreign language through experience and play. I like to emphasize the communicative disciplines, since grammatical explanations in children can be frustrating. As for adults, having a mature knowledge of their mother tongue will make it much easier for them to understand grammatical and theoretical explanations. Still, I like to limit the number of “teacher-centered” classes, to focus on the student and the development of their communication skills. In any case, I always adapt to the demands of the student and his level. I have given classes in general, but also more specific classes such as English for the workplace, preparation for official exams, or conversation classes.
