About Adiran
Hi! I am Adi. I am 18 and I have recently completed my A Levels (Maths, Further Maths, Economics, and Physics). Having achieved four A*s, and also receiving an offer to study Economics at Trinity College, Cambridge, I understand the importance of hard work and focus in order to achieve your goals. I am a dedicated and supportive tutor, who specialises in Maths and Economics for A Level and GCSE students, with experience in teaching students around my age and younger than me. As I have recently finished my A Levels, I am well placed to fully understand the pressures and issues that current A Level and GCSE students face and provide tailored support for them to efficiently improve their grades. I have also learnt that support and guidance are crucial, and this is something that I can and have provided through regular, high quality lessons.

I recommend starting with 1 hour lessons, but I also provide longer lessons depending on the student. Economics: Economics is a subject of logic and deep understanding, so I conduct my lessons in an interactive, discussion-based manner using online whiteboards and tools, in order to stimulate critical thinking and analytical approaches to exam questions. For A Level and GCSE students specifically, I focus my lessons around these areas: 1. Content: the first step is to ensure that my students understand the syllabus well. So, whether there is a specific topic in class that you find tricky, or different areas you just want to recap, I am happy to help through explaining these concepts. I can also give some revision sessions closer to mocks or important exams, which tend to be very helpful. 2. Exam technique: For A Level Economics, there are four main skills that mark schemes focus on: knowledge, analysis, application, and evaluation. Being able to use these skills is essential to achieving the top grades. The good thing is that these can all be developed and improved over time, with sufficient support. 3. Exam practice: I am happy to set practice essays for students to do as homework, and then mark them before our next session. These tend to be especially useful for students’ development as it allows us to identify strengths and weaknesses and improve on specific areas. Considering how time pressured Economics exams tend to be, the ability to write in a succinct, but informative manner is key, and something that I can help with. Maths: For Maths lessons, I am a firm believer that practice is key; so my lessons usually start with some theory around a few topics, before tackling some relevant problems together, which would then be continued as homework. I have worked with a variety of students, ranging from 13+ to A Level Maths students.
