About Pam
I have had the absolute joy of working with students for over 20 years now! One of the best things about working with students is knowing I am making a positive difference in their lives. The greatest statements I hear from the students I have worked with are things like, "I used to hate math, but I think it is kind of fun now!" or, "I didn't think I could ever write well, but I am super proud of my story!" Whether it is trying to get into a top choice for college, wanting to be successfully home-schooled, or getting a better grade in a class, when we work together, my students always accomplish their learning goals!

On the first day, I always ask my students if they think I care if they are "smart." Inevitably they say, "yes!" And I say, "No, that has nothing to do with it!" It's all about being okay with making mistakes and to keep on trying because with some effort, everyone can get to where they need to go! When first meeting with my students we will talk, get to know eachother, discuss what has worked in the past and what hasn't, discuss learning styles, and I will assess where they are currently at so I can design lessons that are tailored to specifically meet their individual needs. After that, lessons will usually start off with a review of skills we have previously gone over, and then new concepts are introduced. We will brainstorm, practice together, and then students will practice on their own. We will finally debrief about how the lesson went and if we need to make adjustments. As a fully credentialed teacher with a Master's in Education and over 20 years of experience working with kinder- high school students in a variety of subject areas, I love seeing my students succeed and gain confidence knowing they can accomplish anything they want to with a bit of effort!
