When my son started taking lessons with Georgios he had just finished third grade in the United States and he was frustrated with his violin. His violin was his passion but he felt behind compared to other children who had started Suzuki at 3 years old when he only began at 6. He loved his teacher but he felt stuck at working at snail's pace. 2-3 lessons in the summer with Georgios helped him jump 4 Suzuki levels and he was hooked for life to the teacher he calls "best in the world". My son has had renowned teachers in the States and graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London but he has only told me about Georgios when he was twelve: "this man inspires me. He loves his students and he really loves what he is doing. He is the best teacher in the world." Not only that, but despite taking lessons all year through Skype and Zoom by Georgios he would not wait a single day after school ended to hop on a plane as an unaccompanied minor to spend every day of his summer in Georgio's studio, not only having his won lessons but meeting with other students, playing chamber music with them and even going out to be entertained with them. Georgios not only harbored the music education of students with Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Science disciplines but he helped them with begin the successful international music careers they envisioned after their formal scientific training. Georgios and the arts in Greece have been hit hard by the crisis and things are only getting harder under governmental bureaucracy and incompetent civil servants. If he lived in any other country Georgios would be honored and adulated as the artistic giant that he is but the Ministries of Culture and Education are artless and illiterate in Greece, tragically now more than ever. I feel very sad that despite teaching in the States, Georgios never moved his family here. As good as your teacher may be, you will not find a better teacher than Georgios anywhere. If you are a passionate, serious and driven student who want to take your performance to the best level Georgios is your man! Over the past 15+years that I have known him, I have even seen him make performers and music teachers out of people that my criticism thought were completely talentless. Not so but Georgios's humanity and love and patience and persistence. I could not believe my eyes. Georgios is a wise person and tremendous human being with a lovely family.

Mr. Demertzis has not only been my professor for over 4 years, but I personally consider him my mentor.
He has helped me so much through my career and is an excellent teacher and person.
His teaching experience is outstanding, as he been teaching for almost 50 years.
Compared to other teachers I know he mainly emphasizes the musical aspect of violin playing, of course without overlooking technique.

He is a very loving and funny person and one can see that from the first time they meet him.
