About Carolyn
I have been teaching and tutoring students for many years at various community colleges in English reading, writing and grammar skills, as well as career preparation skills, like developing a great resume and cover letter. My goal is for you to have learned something each lesson that puts a smile on your face. I want you to enjoy learning and have fun at the same time so that you are confident in your own knowledge and skills to be ready for the future.

I believe in a student-centred approach by determining a student's needs and goals initially and then addressing those needs and goals. My lessons start with a brief warm-up to make the student comfortable, then an introduction noting what the purpose and agenda is for the lesson, going through materials that address the topic with lots of examples, graphics, show-and tell, activities, then a practice activity to try out their new skills, then possibly a larger practice activity that can be classed as homework, then review and conclusion that checks with the student their level of understanding of the lesson material.
