About Sophia
Hello!! My name is Sophia Branda and I am currently a senior in JMU’s well-known theater program as a performance concentration!! I have worked professionally with companies such as Netflix and Walt Disney World as well as local projects within and outside of my school. I would love to help other artists find their voice in acting and develop a portfolio of monologues/scenes for auditions, or even just give them a space to express and practice their art!! Please reach out if interested, I look forward to hearing from you! I had an acting coach while working towards college auditions and I have never been more thankful. Due to individual training I was able to build a strong audition portfolio while also learning unique audition skills. I want to be this guide for your/your child’s art and future!!

I try my best to make my lesson plans as individualized as possible as no one’s art is the same!! I would focus on working contemporary pieces for both theater and film/TV auditioning as well as general auditioning tips. I believe strongly in acting exercises and choosing work that can help an actor feel grounded and connected to the piece. Although my focus is in contemporary work, I have experience in heightened, improv and devised work. Alongside my higher education training and prior experience in acting, I have taken classes in and have credited designing and stage managing shows, which I am also willing to assist with! I am available to meet as often as requested as long as it works with my schedule.
