About Sofia
I grew up with parents who highly emphasized languages, grammar and fluency. Benefitting from this good fortune, I became fully fluent in both Spanish and French. Though raised in the US, I am a native Spanish speaker from Mexico by way of my parents, and attended a bilingual French school, the French-American School of New York, for 11 years.
I am currently living in Mexico.
I have taken both the SAT II and AP tests in French and Spanish, achieving the maximum scores of 800 and 5, respectively. I can also help prepare students for these exams and certifications.

I have acquired over 3 years of experience in teaching and tutoring in language centers and through independent tutoring.
While I am most familiar with the Spanish spoken in Mexico as a Mexican citizen and current resident of Mexico, I strive to teach the most neutral/widely-used grammar and vocabulary throughout the Spanish-speaking world, and am familiar with the grammar and much of the vocabulary from various parts of the Spanish-speaking world, so I can adapt if necessary.
I tutor students spanning a wide range of ages, goals, and abilities and am always ready to adapt lessons to a student's particular needs.
Finally, I enjoy not only teaching, but coaching students in finding the joy of learning and the mindset and mental shortcuts that accelerate this process.
