About Noor

I have been obsessively drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, since I was a child and for most of my life! I studied Art for both GCSE (A*) and A Level (A) then studied BSc Architecture at the University of Reading (2:1). Therefore, I don't believe that any of us are (or need to be) gifted to be artists, we just need to be curious and find ways to enjoy the process so that we want to practice a lot.

As humans, we are all visual creatures. So naturally, Art serves an important purpose in our societies by spreading joy, truth and adding interest to our lives. Not to mention, the inherently meditative nature of drawing and painting in itself makes it a very relaxing, engaging and fulfilling skill to cultivate if you have the will and patience to pursue it.

My main area of expertise is with portrait drawings and landscape paintings, but I love experimenting and challenging myself with different mediums and subjects. I show some of my recent experimentation, as well as my gallery of work from my GCSE studies at the age of 16 until present day, on Instagram and most social medias as @noorrazstudio for anyone interested in seeing my work.

I have been providing drawing Tuition for the last 2+ years and I work as a Teaching Assistant at a local school during the week. I also offer commissions and freelance artwork / design services for companies and private clients on my website: noorrazstudio.com

About the lesson

I am very friendly, patient, and directive. I encourage my students to push themselves and I help them to do this at their own pace, perceptively tailoring my approach to work with the personality of the individual.
I have tutored a number of students of various ages online and in person, from complete beginners to being quite skilled already, but just needing that extra push / guidance either personally or with their studies.

I usually like to conduct lessons over Zoom as it allows for the whiteboard, annotate and share screen functionality which enables us to visually communicate what we are describing. I also like to set up a second screen for the meeting and draw / paint along with my student so that I can demonstrate what I am describing for them and create more of a fun, interactive learning experience.

If you have a specific artistic goal you would like to achieve, from working towards a certain qualification (Primary, GCSE, IGCSE & A level), learning / improving use with a specific medium, drawing / painting a particular subject, or just looking to improve artistic abilities overall, I can help with all of the above!
