Hello! I’m Brenda, a certified K–5 teacher with a Master’s degree in Reading and 30 years of classroom experience teaching all elementary grades. I specialize in reading, phonics, writing, comprehension, math, and homework support, and I tailor each lesson to meet the unique needs of your child.
My Teaching Method & Techniques
I use a structured, supportive, and interactive approach, combining proven literacy strategies with individualized guidance. Lessons often include:
• Guided reading and phonics practice
• Comprehension and writing exercises

I focus on engaging students actively, making learning enjoyable while ensuring they master key skills.
A Typical Lesson Plan (45–60 minutes)
1. Greeting & check-in (5 min) – brief discussion about previous work or current focus
2. Skill practice (10–15 min) – phonics, reading fluency, or math
3. Guided reading / application (15–20 min) – reading passages, writing, comprehension exercises
4. Wrap-up & feedback (5 min) – summarize progress, set next steps
