About Isabella
I am a third year student at McMaster University pursuing a Life Science degree with a specialization in Chemical Biology. I have done one-on-one tutoring with grade 10s as well as university students. I have also conducted group science lessons through interactive experiments with kids ages 5-11.

My main technique when teaching is explaining everything in detail, because at times we may struggle with certain concepts or theories simply because we mis-understand the basic components of them. This technique assures all the main components are understood and allows for a more complex understanding. I also implement knowledge checkpoints to see if there are any uncertainties the student still may have before moving on, as chemistry is a subject that builds up on past knowledge, fully understanding everything before moving on will facilitate the learning process.
A typical class will compose on anything the student would like to focus on and is unsure about even in the slightest bit. I find clarification is key at times in regards to small uncertainties. If any homework is assigned I like to do the questions along side the student so they can better understand what a question is asking, how to arrive at the answer, in addition the student gets practice on how to answer questions in the correct format.
Due to my extended knowledge in chemistry I am able to tutor a wide range of students. Grade 9-10 science, grade 11, 12 & first year chemistry and second year organic chemistry.
