About Laurie

Hi, I'm Laurie Hunt! I'm an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 30 years of experience in education, social work, counseling, and helping people overcome challenges.
I hold a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Social Work, and a degree in Drama in Education. My diverse background allows me to recognize individual learning needs and develop creative, personalized approaches that help students succeed.
I specialize in building confidence and helping students overcome obstacles in reading, writing, literacy, and communication. I love incorporating music, drama, storytelling, visual arts, and humor into my lessons to make learning engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful.
I'm patient, encouraging, creative, and tenacious. I believe that every student has unique strengths and the potential to succeed. Sometimes, all it takes is someone who sees those strengths and finds a different way to teach.
My goal isn't simply to help students improve their grades. It's to help them discover their abilities, believe in themselves, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
