About Lynette
I have taught Afrikaans First and Second Language as well as English and History to Grades 8 to 12 since 1973. I have in this time taught at a variety of schools and to a variety of cultures. While I enjoy teaching academically Strong students, I have specialised in helping the less able students to cope and to improve their grades.

I am a degreed High School Teacher with 50 years experience. I have successfully taught Immigrants, Children who had no Afrikaans in Primary School, and those who experienced difficulties in mastering both English and Afrikaans. I have also helped coping students improve their symbols.
I firmly believe that unless the fundamentals are mastered and the student's confidence is developed, there is little hope of success.
During my years of work I have developed a proven Tutoring style:
* Assessment of the student's specific problem/s
*Development of a strategy and material to deal with the specific problems
*Guided use of this material
*Assistance given where needed to deal with School Homework
*Each lesson contains a ten minute test based on the previous week's work focussed specifically on problem areas
*Extention work to challenge coping students who wish to improve symbols

Details
When teaching in the Student's home there must be an interruption free work area. And Students are expected to do any Homework set by me.
Lessons cannot be made up if students cancell without 24 hour's notice. Cancellations must be made by the student's parent.
I only charge for travel to locations further than 30km from Hillcrest
