About Khaliah
Hi! My name is Khaliah, and I am a certified elementary and special education teacher currently teaching fourth grade in Virginia. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Virginia and am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction.
Reading is my passion, and I am dedicated to helping students become confident, successful readers. Over the past three years, I have worked with a diverse range of learners, including English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and students performing both above and below grade level. Through personalized instruction, I help students strengthen foundational reading skills such as phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension while building the confidence they need to thrive.
I believe every child can grow as a reader when instruction is tailored to their individual needs. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to take risks, develop strong literacy skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading.

I believe every student can become a successful reader with the right support, encouragement, and instruction. My lessons are personalized to meet each student's unique needs, whether they are building foundational reading skills, strengthening fluency and comprehension, expanding their vocabulary, or developing confidence as readers. I have experience working with English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and learners performing at a variety of reading levels.
My approach is engaging, interactive, and student-centered. I use evidence-based strategies to help students develop essential literacy skills while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. My goal is to help students grow as confident, independent readers and develop a lifelong love of reading. Each lesson is tailored to the student's strengths, needs, and individual goals to ensure meaningful progress and success.
