Juliana is a phenomenal tutor. First of all, she is very friendly, personable, and accommodating, making the learning environment extremely comfortable. She’s very proficient in both Portuguese and English, and understands the nuances within each language from a fundamental level, as well as in the application of the language. She is very attentive during learning sessions, understanding her students particular needs in terms of advancing their language proficiency, progress, and learning pace. Juliana comes prepared with a diverse set of learning tools and homework assignments, each geared towards progressing reading and writing proficiency, and listening and speaking proficiency. She also incorporates important cultural aspects into the learning giving the student contextual understanding of why things are spoken/written a certain way and the nature of typical interactions. The lessons also incorporate cultural history and current cultural components such as television shows, music, history, etc. I would very highly recommend Juliana as a tutor. I have made significant progress since beginning my tutoring lessons with her, and look forward to our tutoring sessions.
