About Ruben
My name is Ruben and I'm from Lisbon. I'm passionate about language teaching and I want my students to feel confident during their language-learning journey. As a keen learner of foreign languages myself, I know it can seem daunting to learn a new language. However, I believe everybody can learn a new language with the right amount of motivation, confidence and support.

Olá! I'm a native speaker of European Portuguese, originally from Lisbon though based in London, and I have been teaching Portuguese as a non-native language for many years now. I have a background in Applied Linguistics (MA), and I'm also a very keen learner of foreign languages. I speak fluent English, Spanish, Italian and French, and I know a little bit of German and Romanian as well.
My lessons are developed to assist learners in developing both their fluency and their knowledge of Portuguese Grammar. I want students to feel confident when speaking Portuguese as well as enjoying the actual language-learning process.
I have worked with hundreds of Adult learners in different countries, but in classrooms and nowadays online via Zoom.
