About Alyssa

It's true! I can really get you a five. My most recent student received a five on the AP Psychology exam. All of the students I have tutored have received a five and I typically meet with them one to two times per week. Inside the classroom, my students have a 97% pass rate. Psychology is truly a subject I am passionate about. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island. I also hold a Master's degree in Psychology. And I obtained my second Master's degree in Higher Education, earning a 4.0.

I've been a dedicated tutor for 8+ years, and I have been teaching psychology for 6 years.

Whether you need help with a college psychology class, a supplemental psychology class, AP Psychology class, I've got you covered. I know a wide array of concepts inside out because I've studied them and taught them. If you are confused about any concepts, I know how to explain them very easily to you. Look no further.
The new AP exam includes scientific practice skills such as identifying a research method. I also teach AP research and have been for the past three years. I know the ins and outs that you need to master these skills.

Let's get started with our first lesson and let the fun begin!!

About the lesson

I am patient and organized, and students love my classes because they say I make things easy to understand and fun. I personally understand how challenging it can be when someone doesn't explain things in simple terms. I make lessons fun and interactive.

Most importantly, I value and respect others' time and understand how important it is that you get your money's worth. Teaching comes second nature to me, and I always make sure my students understand the material. Learning should be fun, which is why I try to teach my students through life examples. I listen to what you tell me you're struggling with, and we focus on that. I also listen to what it is you want to focus on for each lesson and make sure that you are satisfied.

Ms. Alyssa was my AP psychology teacher last year and she was an integral part in me getting a 5 on the exam. She is a very knowledgeable, thorough, and supportive, teacher. Although she is a great teacher, I think the best way to describe her is it is like she is your coach. She makes sure to support you every step of the way, giving you strategies/tips and encouragement though every unit in your AP psychology journey. She doesn't just stand at the finish line waiting for you to catch up, she is there running the course with you the entire way.

Ms. Alyssa taught me in both the elective and AP Psychology classes and she truly cares about her students both in and outside of the classroom. I know that with this teacher I am going to walk away with a greater understanding and passion for the subject. Many students sign up for her class because of her fun teaching methods. I earned a 5 on the AP exam thanks to her. She is the best teacher at my school!!

Alyssa has helped many youth pass AP Psychology and other psychology courses. Not only is she very knowledgeable about her subject she is super patient, supportive and friendly. She also has a strong background in ESL so for psych students who need a tutor with understanding of trials of being a non native speaker of English she is a very good choice for a tutor. I am happy to recommend Alyssa in support of your educational goals, in fact I highly suggest choosing her!
