My wife and I learned much about acting from Iris Klein. I appreciate that she demonstrates what she is teaching, something not often seen. At least i can see how much intimacy is scary when i see her work with others and when others work, although it isn't easy for me to be open with other actors. Still all the training one can get is useful when to get a job in the industry means that lots of well trained people are counting on you to know how to act. She has a lot of real world teaching to impart.

Well worth the money! If your considering an acting class for the first time, take Iris's class, you will be a much better actor for it! Shes blunt and straight to the point. Iris uses class time wisely to get as much in as possible. I will attend more of her classes in the future.

Today in class, I commented to Iris that she was the most perceptive woman I had ever met, and that she doesn't miss a thing. She tilted her head, smiled and said that she knows.

And you know what? She does. She knows all. These past two weeks in Iris Klein's two week Meisner intensive has rocked my world.

I love the craft of acting. I've read loads of books on the subject and always tried to apply what I've read into whatever class I happened to be taking at the time. Unfortunately, without proper guidance to temper my enthusiasm, I had picked up a lot of bad habits that ultimately lead to a lot of bad "acting."

With this realization I felt over whelmed. However, working with Iris I also realized that I merely had a few bad tools mixed into my acting kit. Through Iris's training, I took each tool out of my kit one by one, looked them over for rust, polished them or, if necessary, discarded them if they were broken or revealed to be silly toys masquerading as tools.

I'm going to be sad when this class concludes. With Iris's approach to the Sanford Meisner method, she endowed me with a work ethic that I will always carry with me. I truly believe I can use it to develop what little acting talent I may have into a formidable skill I can use to crack into this crazy business of show business if I work hard at it.

I finally feel as though I've truly grown a little as an actor.

This is my first review because I think more people should be aware of this incredible teacher. I wanted to get back into acting after a three year hiatus. Through word of mouth I came across Iris who intimidated me because of her credentials. She works privately with many Emmy and Oscar winners and sometimes that means they're more into talking about their accomplishments rather then teaching, but I went anyway.

She teaches the Miesner technique but in the most magical way. You can sit in on Fridays for $15.00 to do repetition or there are other classes available which you can check out on her website. There is nothing pretentious about this environment. She really wants you to be your best.

I know Yelp is kind of a weird place to look but hey...I thought the information should be available.

I could go on and on but everyone's experience with her is different and I hate reading long reviews. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least contact her for more information!

Insightful, sensitive and intuitive to the actors. Her 2 week work shop has definitely elevated my understanding of acting and character development. Hope Iris can make it back to Hawaii soon. You folks in LA are sooo lucky to have her.

Iris is the Real Deal and great for actors who want to develop a technique and process to fully access emotions. Iris is gentle and nurturing, yet will challenge what you believe, which will lead to brilliant discoveries in your work. She is a great coach when it comes to The Big Audition"...or any audition, really. She uses her intuitive insights and wellspring of knowledge and know-how to push you as an artist and get you In The Moment, to more fully express - too fully feel - what's happening in your work. She's a true gem.

Best I've seen in LA. I call this the Human Connection class. World peace manifest class. It's pretty hard to describe, but for 10 bucks on Friday mornings, you may come in and discover yourself.

Iris is truely a "New York" Acting teacher! She is defintely not going to teach you how to mug for the camera. Works with some of the best! Love her!

I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. I happened to audit the class due to a referral and immediately fell in love with it. I've taken many different Technique classes but this one was by far, the most effective and beneficial classes I've ever taken. Iris sees things that are beyond explanation. It's one of those classes that you'll sit there after watching a scene and go "oh! That's what it was! How simple!" when she gives her notes. She's brilliant and most of all, her insights are helpful. Acting isn't easy, it's work. She gives you the tools and shows you the endless possibilities of yourself. You'll learn to tap into your full potential, not just as an actor, but also as a human being. It is a special and safe environment with a very supportive teacher. I would recommend taking Iris' Technique intensive before moving forward to the Master Class. The technique intensive is for everyone-- beginner to experienced, use it as a place to learn or brush up on skills. You can never have too much knowledge and training in this business anyway :)

Love this woman. She's honest, compassionate, and can no doubt help you to reach the level you want to be at

This coming June will mark 3 years that I've been studying with Iris. As I'm writing this I'm finding it difficult to properly describe my experience with her as a teacher, mentor and friend for not only is this a fantastic acting studio, it is a temple. When one listens to the works of Mozart or Beethoven you are transported through time and spirit. Swept through the depths of a journey that creates a feeling of the most delicate and sublime experience of the human connection. This is Iris Klein's acting studio. A TRANSCENDENT experience in acting technique, creation and life. I am honored to have found her and to continue to learn from her. I've found a home, I've found friends, I've found love in her studio. Iris is a constant inspiration and I cannot recommend her anymore highly to any aspiring actor, artist or human being.

I've been in the business a really long time! When I need to regenerate some
love for the industry, I come back to Iris's technique class. Iris strips away all
your bad habits and helps you connect to the other actor in a completely
organic way. Acting becomes so truthful and effortless. The entertainment
industry is a very tough business and it's easy to become disenchanted.
I'm so grateful to Iris that I once again feel passionate about my career.

I can't begin to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for all that Iris has taught me in acting, as a performer, and in life. I've had the pleasure of taking her Technique Class and frequent her Friday Repeat Classes. Both have helped me immensely become more attuned with my emotions, break down walls of communication, and to start taking care of myself, both in thought and in action. After 2 years of taking acting classes in Los Angeles, I can absolutely say that I found something unique here at this studio.

Before signing up in class, Iris had me come in and meet her to give me information about the class. I thought this was very cool-she took the time to make a one on one appointment with me instead of just tossing her students into the class.

To add to this, I was going to take one of her earlier workshops and had to drop last minute. She very politely told me that she hoped to see me in the future-Wow. I could tell that she was really here for her students, and wanted the timing to be right for me.

This was my first exposure to the Meisner technique. And it was honestly very different that anything I had experienced and very refreshing to learn.

Iris will MAKE you listen. You learn to take in your partner and to make each moment count.

She is very passionate about her work and does a great job with her students. You can tell she is very experienced in coaching-and it is really cool when we get to see her act even just for a glimpse from time to time. She's good!

Even after moving on from her class, she sent me a very genuine email just to check on how everything was going for me. I'm telling you folks-there is something special about this woman and her studio.

Finally, this is the big thing. I think this place is GREAT for a lot of people to land, at least for a while. She focuses on moment to moment, which not only helps your acting, but will improve your LIFE.

Think about it. Being an actor in LA is very stressing and you are constantly projecting and hoping that the future holds your success. This mentality builds anxiety and makes it really hard to act because it becomes hard to just BE, in the present.

I found myself not even listening, in my own head thinking how I was going to deliver my line, and what came out was not a true delivery.

So go here if you want a teacher who genuinely cares, a great community (all the students were awesome too), and a technique that will improve your acting but more importantly leave a great impact on your LIFE :)

I have been in Iris' class for probably over a year and a half now....Starting with her technique class, and working my way into the master class. In the time being here I have grown so much as an artist without truly knowing it. I've gained a confidence in my craft that I don't think I would have had had I studied with other coaches.

We also work on material that is truly challenging, and allows you to flex your most important muscle as an actor....the imagination. Iris guides you on what the scene is about. Your circumstances, stakes, and objectives if needed. She never puts you into fixed mindset and always encourages and allows her actors to be flexible and free with their choices. I've become a better actor from being here.

On top of all that she is a marvelous individual. All the love and care that happens in the class has rubbed off on me! Her family is a testament to her love. I find myself expressing it more and more in my daily life. I've been able to make friends in her class and I'm very grateful that I've been accepted into a home of artists.
