About Daniel
Top Hat Dance Studio, located in Northeast Philadelphia, has been offering premier dance instruction in wedding, ballroom, performance, competitive and social dance styles for over 25 years.
Students are taught by passionate and accredited instructors who are dedicated to giving our students the best possible dance education. Top Hat's instruction reaches beyond steps and amalgamations: students are taught the intricacies of dance and what makes each dance work.
The Owners Credentials:
Daniel McGee
With a score of "Highly Commended," Daniel received his Associate certification in International Standard by the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance) in 2007. Scoring "Honors", Daniel received his ISTD Licentiate Theatre Arts certification in 2008. Also with "High Honors" Daniel received his Bronze Associate certification in Hustle from IHDA/DVIDA in 2009. Daniel is also a member of the National Dance Council of America (NDCA).
Jameson Kilburn
As a teacher, Jameson was awarded the IHDA Top Professional Instructor of 2013. He has been awarded Top Teacher at Disco America in Philadelphia, Pa and Swing Fling in Tyson's Corner, VA. Jameson received a score of "Highly Commended" on his certification examinations in the International Standard dancing in 2007 and also received a score of "with Honours" on his certification examination in Theater Arts in 2008 with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Jameson is proud to have been an active board member of the International Hustle Dance Association (IHDA) for 6 years.

At Top Hat Dance Studio we are very proud to offer you the finest instruction in Ballroom, Latin, and Social partner dancing in a NO CONTRACT, NO MEMBERSHIP FEE environment. Our instructors are nationally certified and many are national champions in various styles and genres of dance. Our goal at Top Hat is to provide high-quality instruction in a fun, family atmosphere.
In private lessons, you will work one-on-one with one of our instructors on the dance style(s) of your choice. Whether you would like to take your private lesson with a partner or by yourself, you will receive individual attention on improving your dance skills. In our no contract, no membership fee approach to lessons you are free to take as many lessons as frequently as you would like. Our lessons are taught in 50-minute and 25-minute increments. We are available for private lessons Monday through Sunday and they are scheduled to your convenience.
Many of our private lesson students over the past 20 years have used their lessons as the perfect way to prepare for upcoming competitions, performances or special occasion, become a more confident social dancer.

Details
All of our Group Classes operate on a six-week schedule that can be found on our monthly calendars. When looking at our monthly calendar, the first week of a new session is indicated by a shaded box.
Each group class is $15 per person. Discounts are available with a Top Hat Dance Studio group class card. We also offer a $5 discount when you take two levels of the same class in the same evening. It is not necessary to bring a partner to Group Classes as all dancers will be rotated throughout the entire class. Group classes are a fun, inexpensive way to join the wonderful world of partner dancing and we trust that you will feel right at home with your fellow dancers. Come on out and join the party... Everyone is welcome!
