Our first lesson together, we'll evaluate your dance experience (if you don't have any, don't worry). From there, I'll introduce you to a variety of ballroom dances from waltz, to swing, to rumba.
As we progress through the program, we'll begin learning more patterns and principles to make you a successful lead or follow. We'll evaluate your goals: do you want to be a competent social dancer? Are you getting ready for your first dance at your wedding and need some choreography to fit your song? Or, are you looking for some solid technique to get you ready to be a successful amateur competitor? Your goals will determine what we work on each week and how often we meet. No matter what path you choose, I'm here to help!
We've worked with students of all ages and abilities! We have experience with wedding, quinceañera, and any other special occasion dances; whether you need to look comfortable for your wedding tomorrow or have a year to prepare and want something special choreographed for your big day, we can help!
We have worked with students who are interested in learning a new hobby and want to keep their dancing more social. We learn what makes a good lead and follow and keep it casual and fun!
We've also worked with students who are interested in competing and really taking their dancing to the next level. We focus on good technique and quality of movement and use a program to help dancers progress from beginning to advanced in all ten ballroom dances: waltz, tango, foxtrot, viennese waltz, quickstep, cha cha, rumba, jive, samba, and paso doble. No matter your goals we can work together to make you into the dancer you'd like to be!
As with looking to hire a professional for any service, its imperative that your professional be knowledgable in their field. Beyond that, however, when looking to hire a ballroom dance instructor, you have to make sure you and your teacher get along. You'll be spending lots of time together and personality is super important. Your dance journey should be a fun one so make sure you find someone you can learn from and laugh with!
We were recently able to work with a whole family to help them get ready for an upcoming wedding. We spent eight weeks learning some basics and developing dances like waltz, swing, and rumba. From there We were able to help bride and groom with their first dance choreography and the groom and his mother for their mother/son dance. They were a pleasure to work with and it was such a joy to see them grow both in their ability and confidence as dancers!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are my goals? Am I wanting to dance socially, competitively, or am I preparing for a wedding or other event? What's important to me in a lesson? Do I want to learn patterns and figures only or am I looking to nail down proper technique? If I am preparing for a wedding dance or other performance/event, is there a specific song, dance, or choreography I want to use? How often do I want to take lessons and is dancing something I'm hoping to commit to long term?

Details
Our standard rate for a 45 minute lesson is $60. That covers our teaching fee ($45) and the floor fee we owe the studio for each lesson ($15). In an effort to keep prices as low as possible, We do not offer package rates. You are still welcome to purchases lessons in advance that never expire.
