About Kathleen
I love to see how people learn. When you learn something, it might be a different approach than how I initially saw it. I then get to learn through you.
A friend knew I played cello, and she asked me to teach her son. I enjoyed teaching him so much that I decided to expand my teaching to other people.
I have been playing the cello for 10 years, and I still continue to play chamber music and in a community symphonic orchestra.

About the lesson

I usually start with scales to make sure they have correct bow hold and can make a clear, strong sound. We then work on easier music to make sure they have good intonation. I will leave time at the end of the lesson to work on any pieces they have for school.
I work with beginner students. I have mainly worked with younger children, but I have taught older people who wish to learn.
I would tell the student to make sure you connect with the teacher. It should be fun while still being informational. If the way they teach does not click with you either, it is okay to move on and find someone that you will click with.
