About Megan

At SIF Tutoring, we believe Science Is Fun! Founded and run by Megan Mannino, a biomedical engineer and clinical operations lead, SIF approaches teaching science with a holistic appraoch - looking at how scientific principles tie into everyday life. Through defining the realistic application, it adds relavancy to the topics and deepens curiosity on topics.

Megan is a strong engineer and scientist. With 3 years experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant in CHEM101, CHEM102, and Cell and Tissue Laboratory as well as acting as an undergraduate assistant for the department of biomedical engineering supporting students learning in electronics, coding, and biomechanics, she helped a number of students succeed through helping them understand challenging engineering and scientific principles. She prides herself in the success of the students she has supported and loves watching her students grow and find passion in the topics she teaches.

At our core, we belive that science, mathematics, and technology are something that should be approachable for all. We are here to help you learn and succed.

I was a gymnastics coach throughout highschool. Through teaching young athletes a variety of skills and supporting their personal and athletic development, I discovered a passion for teaching students. 

Throughout college, I prioritized time to help others learn difficult scientific concepts because I wanted to pay it forward to my peers. The future innovators of the world don't need to be inhibited by their frustrations to achieve and understanding that will aid their contributions to the world. I love that moment when someone gets it and watching how that changes them, how proud they become of themselves. 



In 2019, I graduated with a bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering (GPA of 3.6). As a Biomedical Engineering student I completed course work in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, biostatistics, mechanics, fluid dynamics, coding, and much more! Throughout my undergraduate degree, I acted as a teaching assistant for a number of courses including chemistry, cell and tissue biology, electrical engineering, computer science, and biomechanics. I love sharing knowledge and helping students grasp concepts. 

In addition, I currently work as a product development engineer and clinical operations lead for a medical device company. Previously I have conducted research in biochemistry and biochemical applications in both an academic and industrial setting.

Once I am connected with a student, I look to (1) understand the student, (2) understand the ciriculum, and (3) define where gaps lie in skill set development and concept understanding. From there I develop and action plan where the student and I work together to assist their learning in a way that best suits their needs.
