Teri Bersee's classes that I took included students at different skill levels working in different mediums. Because Teri is proficient in all mediums, she easily moved from student to student effectively critiquing work. Her ideas are to the point and often with humor to lighten the load of perfectionists.

Terri was my first art teacher after moving to Ohio in fifth grade. She is the sole reason for my love in the arts. Her classes taught me the value of the arts and provided an outlet to communicate my view point through lots of colors. I learned skill sets to execute the works I was interested in, and continued growth under her teaching. She is the only person to have taught pastels,t even after graduating from an arts college, and it remains my favorite medium that I always come back. She inspired me to continue my education in the arts during and after high school, and to follow a career in it as well.

. Working with Bountiful Arts Studio was the best experience in art that I ever had. Teri teaches from her heart. With me, she saw my potential and my shortcomings. She was very supportive of my work and did not hesitate to tell me what I needed to improve. Her eye for painting and drawing is great. She would look at my paintings in progress and tell me what simple steps I could take to make them better. She was right every time. From composition to perspective to color balancing to conveying gestures and moods, she saw it all.
Each class that I attended was a joy. My drawing, painting, and confidence greatly improved.

Teri gives thought to what the student (in my case a beginner) and suggests paths they follow to make them proficient in the practice of watercolor. It could be laying down washes, mixing colors, learning about pigment properties, looking at values, using BIG brushes, drawing (especially drawing). She will critique the work since the last lesson and ask what do I like or what would I wished I had done -- seeing if I'm picking up on how to critique my own work as I go along with a piece. All in all I am very pleased with her instructions.

I have no background in painting or art what so ever, but Teri made a miracle out of paintbrush in my hands :)
Teri has great personality, she is very flexible, and by taking class with her not only I made a beautiful work,but time in class with her was like a therapy to me. She is very professional, high skilled and passionate in what she does, I highly recommend her!!

My daughter was about 11 years old when she started working with Teri, working with her for about five years. She is the most optimistic, kind and talented teacher we have ever encountered. We were utterly amazed of the art that came out of our daughter. So much so she won best of show at an art show! We moved and Teri moved but she still stayed in touch. What a caring and talented lady! Highly recommended with no reservations.
