About Michaela
As a Middle Grades Education major, I gained extensive experience teaching children of various backgrounds, cultures, languages, and learning abilities. Connecting with a student on a personal level is the most essential component of tutoring; students that connect with their tutor are more motivated compared to students that view their tutors as "just another teacher."
Simply tutoring a student is not my job. My job is to ensure that my students are confident in their work. My job is to ensure that my students are able to tutor me after the lesson.
I have worked as a tutor, teaching assistant, and afterschool assistant for nearly two years.
As previously mentioned, my job is to guarantee confidence in my students' subject. The most enjoyable part of my work is that moment of triumph students feel when they finally understand a subject. That surge of confidence is felt between both student and tutor, and that moment of validation for the student gives them the confidence in other subjects.
