About Persie
Hello! I'm Persie! I've been teaching English as a 2nd language for 3 years (2 1/2 in China, 6 mos in Thailand). I love working with students to unlock their language learning potential. I try to make my classes fun for all ages.
I got my Bachelors in Theatre and I hold a 120 hour TEFL certificate.
I began teaching Pre K level students in a Jumpstart program in my area while in university as I wanted to join the Peace Corps. Due to medical issues I was denied, but I applied to a few companies overseas and within a week I began my TEFL training and within 4 months I was on my way to China
I have a bachelor's degree in Theatre and a 120 hour TEFL certification. I've been teaching for 3+ years in public and private institutions.

Before classes begin, I will ask students to take a placement test so I can assess their English level. I ask about any English experience they have and what their goals are for our time together. I will plan our lessons accordingly.
I've worked with students aged 3-40 from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Look for a teacher that is capable of acknowledging mistakes and is willing to admit they don't know something. We are not human dictionaries and google is our friend.
