About Ella

I am an undergraduate at Whitman College and am extremely passionate about reading and writing, and learning in general. English is a huge academic strength of mine, but it didn't used to be. Thanks to some incredible mentors, teachers, and professors, I have made it to where I am today. I have found that the ability to read and write skillfully has served me tremendously in all areas of my life. It is a skill I believe everyone should have, as it is greatly empowering on a variety of levels. The process of improving one's own writing and reading skills isn't always easy, but it is hugely rewarding. I hope to share my experience, skills, and advice with you and to help you in every way I can through your growth as a writer, a reader, and a student – whether that is through grammar education, interpretation of texts, editing, essay formation, or perspective on applying to / searching for a college. Ultimately, I hope I can be one of the many people who empowers you and supports you through your path towards proficient writing.

I have also taken nine years of Spanish (including a translation and interepretation course) and lived in a variety of Spanish speaking countries. Whether you are a native Spanish speaker working on assignments for an Enlgish class, or are in a Spanish class and could use some extra guidance, I am here to help you work through whatever you are struggling with to the best of my abilites.

I will first help my students identify what they are struggling with and how I can best support them. Then, if they are working on an assignment, I will make sure that my students understand their assignments and then work through it with them. If my students are in need of more general help, I will help them pinpoint what it is that is getting in their way and how they can move forward and overcome these obstacles. I can provide extra lessons, assignments, explanations, or whatever my students may need in order to improve.
