About Caitlin
I have experience tutoring at the college/University level, and am studying to be an Elementary teacher.
I love helping people. Seeing learning happening, and being a part of it, is the most beautiful thing and I am always honored to have been a part of that process.
I am a tutor with the Writing Center at Roanoke College, and I have worked as a camp counselor for children with autism and other developmental disabilities for the past two years. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies which will allow me to obtain my Teaching Certificate in the State of Virginia.

I always want to know a bit about them as people, to begin with. I start shorter or one-time sessions by asking the student how they learn best- what strategies have worked in the past, and what doesn't work. With younger students, that can be directed towards parents, but I can also ask them about if they like to use colors, or underline, things like that- that way I can get a sense of their learning style without directly using that terminology that they may not understand.
