About Lissa

I'm an aspiring teacher in my second year of an undergraduate Education and American Studies double major with a minor in Black Studies at Skidmore College. I have interned at Children's Science Centers for three consecutive summers, been a teachers assistant at an Early Childcare Center, and taught english to underprivelaged children in Guatemala. I love to get to know my clients and am available most days in the afternoon.

I love making people smile and slowly bringing up their academic confidence until they are comfortable with where they are. The most bittersweet moment is when a client goes their seperate ways with you as you have done your job by will miss their smiling face!

Most of this is said in the About Me section of my page but I am a second year undergrad at Skidmore College studying Education and American Studies with a minor in Black Studies. I have interned at different Children's Science Centers and have worked with field trip sized classes to do experiments and study simple scientific method practices. I have also worked with young students on homework while babysitting. While being a teacher's assistant at an Early Childcare Center, my main focus was on stimulating the children creatively, socially, and acedemically.

Usually I like to get to know the student first so they can articulate their acedemics needs to me. I then like to discuss goals and get a routine established with the student in order for them to become accustomed to how we both work and will work together.
