About Phillip
We not only develop players through position specific skill work, but through drilling fundamentals- footwork, eye discipline, transitioning out of breaks, tracking the ball, and much more. We can tailor training to the specific athlete's needs to help them become the best player THEY can be. Our 7v7 program draws not only some of the top talent in Henry county, but some of the best in the south east. It's a great stage to improve skills, compete, and gain exposure. We strive to help every athlete achieve their goals of playing at the next level by helping with recruiting, show casing skills at national tournaments, arranging college visits, and much more. We are NOT your typical training program!
I love working closely with my kids- watching them grow and develop not only as players/athletes, but as young men. GXA is not just athletic training, but mentorship as well. Our love for football is the common thread that allows us to reach young men, and we try and pour as much into them as possible to help with their development. We preach and practice FAMILY, and it's a blessing and honor to be able to do so
I have always been interested in athletics and fitness training. i Iell in love with football at an early age (maybe 6 years old?), and started helping coach youth football after my playing days were done. It was a natural transition. When my son was playing middle school football, i couldn't help but notice a glaring need for better coaching. I saw how players weren't being taught basic fundamental skills like taking a handoff. It was this realization, along with my love and passion for the game and desire to enhance players lives through the game of football that the foundation of GXA was built.
I have been a certified trainer for about 20 years, played football into my 30's attending; a few pro combines along the way. I have coached several youth all star tournaments, coached at the high school level, and worked with both college and professional players

Everything starts with an interview, parent(s) included. We need to be able to assess the athlete's level of desire and commitment, as well as that of the parents. It is also when we find out what the athlete's goals are, previous experience- both training as well as playing the sport they are training for. Injuries and physical limitations are discussed.
Next step would be to put the athlete through some drills to help identify areas of focus, and the develop a plan accordingly
In relation to football, I have coached and worked with some of the best youth players in the state, some if which have ranked in the top 10 at their positions in the nation for their age group, as well as those with very little experience. Some of our athletes are looking for help cracking the starting lineup on their team, others are looking to take their skills to the next level. All levels are welcomed
Best advice I can give is to find a coach you can trust has your best interest at heart, and will do all they can to put you in the best position to succeed. Part of what sets GXA apart is the family atmosphere... we go above and beyond for our family!
I am most proud of the fact that over the last 2 years, we have approximately 20 (its honestly more) players that have come through our program now playing in college on scholarship. More than half of those players are playing at the D1 level, a lot of them at power 5 schools.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be honest with yourself. When it comes to training, focus on your deficiencies not your strengths, and ask questions to gain the assurance your coach will challenge you in those areas

Details
The current program offered is 3 sessions per week. Each session builds upon the last, developing speed, agility, footwork, and position specific skills. There is a $250/month investment for this program, additional training sessions (weight training, nutrition) available on an individual basis
