About Amy
My 4 years as a classroom assistant make me excited to work one-on-one! I look forward to giving you the exact help you need.
I love getting to know you, your interests and strengths, and fitting our sessions to your unique needs.
I graduated from Rockhurst University with a degree in K-12 French education, including a semester-long student teaching stint with French 2 & 3 students at Liberty High School. As a classroom assistant I have worked with middle school ELL students and helped in middle school French classrooms. I also assisted middle school English Language Arts students on a daily basis for 2 years. I also have a 5-9 ELA certification and taught that subject for 1 year.

At first, my focus is on getting to know you, your culture, your needs, and your interests. I also will make sure you know a bit about me and what we have in common. We'll also look at some basic skills for your level and how comfortable you are with them. After identifying how I can best help you, we will use a combination of reading, writing, listening, and/or speaking to develop your language skills. I will incorporate your interests and cultural background into our work together.
