About Lori
Lori has been riding several disciplines for over 30 years. Starting with just a bareback pad and halter, she moved up to showing competitively in gymkhana and rodeo. For fun, she loves to trail ride and jump. She also was an exercise rider for Thoroughbred racehorses. She loves working with the horse as a partner and teaching horses and owners how to trust each other.
I love seeing that first time that horse and rider connect. The look on the riders face when after all the training, the horse does what he is asked.
Been riding English and Western for over 30 years.
Was a member of Santana Riders, West Coast Barrel Racers, CA Junior Rodeo, and High School Rodeo.
District finalist in barrels for High School Rodeo 1990.
Year-End Champion 1990 Santana Riders
Trained in round pen reasoning, barrels, poles, gymkhana. Some English, jumping, and flat saddle experience.

I'm a relaxed person and want the rider to also be relaxed. With a new student, I always ask what is their goal? What do they want to learn? I like to see what they already know and then build off of that. If the horse and rider do not already practice round pen reasoning, and facilities are available, I always teach that.
Beginners all the way up.
Make sure you are comfortable with them and their training methods. NEVER be afraid to ask questions!
My first student attended her very first gymkhana. She was so nervous but had been working so hard. She ended up taking Reserve Champion in her division! So proud of her!

Details
I charge $40 per lesson which includes my driving time. I come to you for lessons. I do not charge hourly rates. Average lessons are an hour, but if there is an issue that needs to be resolved I will stay until we get to a stopping point. And in the reverse, if the horse and/or rider are having an off day, I will shorten the lesson to be able to end on a good note.
