About Hondo

Jiu-Jitsu USA ®, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Fitness, and Training Center is a Jiu-Jitsu and fitness club that came to life to bring locals a place to train and learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Boston Fit near Charlton, Fiskdale, Sturbridge and Southbridge, Palmer area. We compete as Team Jiu-Jitsu USA. To date, Everyone who trains here and has competed has enjoyed stepping up on the podium for a championship medal.

We have classes for both adults and children. Our high-intensity classes are fun, exciting, and hold true to the BJJ tradition of a world-class workout. Whether you are interested in learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense or to test your skills competitively you will like Jiu-Jitsu USA.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a mixed martial art, combat sport, and self-defense system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. BJJ promotes confidence in the individual to stand in the face of adversity. With the proper training, anyone can learn to take the fight to the ground.

BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self-defense. Sparring (commonly referred to as "rolling") and live drilling play a major role in training. Here we teach both street Jiu-Jitsu and competition Jiu-Jitsu. You will learn to focus your energy and develop your technique, leverage, joint locks, and chokeholds into expert maneuvers. Whether you have little to no experience or are an accomplished MMA fighter, you will find our classes challenging

Please visit us at our facility in Charlton. It is a clean, well-kept building conveniently located on Route 20. Come try out our brand new competition mats from Fuji. Students & Parents, you will be happy to hear that there is off street parking, changing rooms, and state of the art security in the building. Conference tables and free high-speed wireless internet, coffee and cool water are available for free. We are excited to share our passion for Jiu-Jitsu and general fitness with you.

I work in Emergency Medicine, Technology and Teach Gracie Jiu-JItsu. Jiu-jitsu one of my passions.

Coach Hondo, is a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu He has been Training, teaching and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1999. He also has several years of Aikido and Muay Thai Training.

He began his Jiu-Jitsu journey at the legendary Ralph Gracie Academy in San Francisco. Because of moving and Med School he has trained with a number of Amazing Jiu Jitsu instructors.

When not practicing emergency medicine you can find him at the academy teaching and training Jiu-Jitsu.

Hondo believes every person that trains Jiu-Jitsu becomes a better person inside and out.

About the lesson

We recommend talking and This is an introduction to Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Class. Right in Charlton, MA. on Rt 20. We have both adult and children's intro classes. The Class is for the people that have always wondered if Jiu-Jitsu is fun as it seems. We cover the very basics such as how to fall down and roll. You also get to learn a few simple but very powerful positions and submissions. This is an adult Intro class From 16 YO to 70 YO all are invited. The classes are tons of fun and a great way to check you what Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is. We do ask that you give us a heads up you are going to attend, call and schedule your class 1-(concealed information) Or sign, up through the website (concealed information) on the contact us tab.
