About Charu

Hello Students and Families !

My name is Charu Khurana. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton in Child and Adolescents Development. I am passionate about working with yong children. I believe everytime I interact with children I learn something new about them. I love teaching subjects like Algebra, reading and, vocabulary to my students because I believe that having mastery in these subjects my students develop problem- solving skills, reading gives a sense of the world and they are able to discover new words, and vocabulary helps all areas of communication. I am a visual learner. Working with students that have different learning styles really excites me. I was recognized as an Honor Roll student for my academic achievement and received a Blue and Gold Award for outstanding achievement in Pre- Agebra in High School. I love to work with numbers and Maths has been my favorite subject in school. I have tutored students in an after school learning center. I have helped students with their basic Math and English. It was one of the best experiences I had and since then my goal is to provide young minds those experinces that would eventually teach them those basic skills that they will be using it in the future.

The most enjoyable part of my work as a tutor is the flexibility. One of the greatest strength as an educator is meeting each child's unique needs by developing personal understanding of each one of them. I am able to achieve this by seesing and assessing my students as individuals and tailoring lesson plans to accommodate multiple intelligences. I establish a good rapport with students and I make them feel that I love teaching and love been there with them.
