About James
I have a total of one year experience tutoring mathematics at Daytona State College. I have also done in-home tutoring with a number of clients over the years from ages 12-55. Tutoring is something I have been told by my students I do very well. The students that I have helped pass their classes are very grateful that they had me to provide them with high quality tutoring at such a low price. I have always been good at mathematics, and I enjoy learning new things about mathematics and science! I have 136 college credit hours under my belt with even more of my knowledge in mathematics and science coming from self-study than formal education.
My methods of tutoring include first determining weak points to build a strong foundation of the fundamentals of a subject. Once the student has the basics down, I can share my extensive knowledge of mathematics to captivate the student with new knowledge that prepares them to go above and beyond and challenge the student with problems that are at or just above their level to keep them on their toes. Due to my unending interest in various math and science topics, I have a vast knowledge base and superior understanding of concepts. My goal is for my student to have a deep understanding of the subject matter and to outperform their peers.
I urge students to ask conceptual questions in advance (before the lesson) and submit at least two math or science problems to me that they would like to cover during the lesson. This practice helps improve the tutoring experience. I prefer face-to-face tutoring over online tutoring. I have also decided to restrict my future clientele to college students who are passionate about learning.
I took a SARS-CoV-2 RNA, QL, RT PCR (COVID-19) test on 01/03/2021 and tested negative. I also have not experienced any symptoms since the test.
