About Turquinitra
When I think about how my service stands out, the first thing that comes to mind is my ability to build rapport with my students. I enjoy teaching and learning about my student’s interests. I also like to have fun with my students by planning interactive activities and fun learning experiences. I've been teaching for 8 years in the Houston metro area and look forward to meeting new students.
There are so many things that I enjoy about teaching and tutoring students. One of the things that I enjoy is seeing my students learn and feel successful. I love to watch my students grow and become strong mathematicians.
Every teacher has a story about what drew them to the classroom. Mine began with a simple yet profound love for children and a dream to make a difference, one child at a time. Like many parents, I've always seen the immense potential and promise within each child, and this belief has been the guiding light of my journey.
I remember the early days, changing careers with a heart full of hope and a mind filled with dreams. I started as a volunteer in local schools, thinking I was there to teach, only to find that the children had as much to teach me. Transitioning to a paraeducator, I found my calling in the echoes of the classroom, among the whispered triumphs of reading a sentence smoothly for the first time. In these moments, celebrating each small victory with a child, I knew I had found my home in teaching.
Moving to Texas and becoming a certified teacher wasn't just a professional milestone but a personal commitment to nurturing the light within each student I met. I've taught English and Math, and embraced special education's unique challenges and rewards, always believing that every lesson is a stepping stone to a child's brighter future.
