About Steven
“If Not You, Then Who?” is the mentality you must have, as you assume responsibility of educating children. As a teacher, every student should be given the opportunity to learn, and the role of a teacher is that of a facilitator; "A facilitator's job is to support everyone to do their best thinking and practice. To do this, the facilitator encourages full participation, promotes mutual understanding and cultivates shared responsibility. By supporting everyone to do their best thinking, a facilitator enables group members to search for inclusive solutions.” - Kaner1 Essentially, your are the facilitator of the students in your classroom.
You should provide every student with the skills and knowledge to be able to think critically, enabling them to solve everyday problems. Along with providing his/her students with guidance, support, and inspiration so they can find the right path, be it in a career or in life, a teacher must connect with each and every child. Because, “If not you, then who” will?
