About Paul
Hello there! My name is Paul. I tutor in English essay writing, Algebra, and parametric statistics.
For my day job I work in special education. I give behavioral therapy to children and adults with Autism and other developmental disorders. My career background as well as my Master's degree are geared toward using the best teaching strategies that science can offer.
I try my best not to give my learner's the answer. Instead, I like to give them the tools to find their own answers. I empower my learners to take learning into their own hands which leaves them feeling confident and rewarded in their own acheivements.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and an MS in Psycholgy with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis, which is the behavior therapy that I practice in my career.

When working with a new student the first things I like to cover are what their learning style is and what their prior knowledge is. If I can find a strategy that suits my learner better than others than I will focus on that. Based on the experience I have from my career in behavior therapy, I believe the best approach to learning is to break complex skills down into small, teachable units. Once all the units are acquired they can be put together much more easily.
