About Velonda
Dr. Velonda Anderson has more than 40 years experience teaching nutrition, exercise & health promotion. From double dutch jump rope for youth to Enhance Fitness for seniors (National Kidney Foundation program), I have have the pleasure of teaching every stage of life wellness!
I enjoy the "aha" moments clients have as they learn how easy it really is to embrace their power to make healthy lifestyle choices.
I have always been passionate above disease prevention through healthy living. My first opportunity to teach group exercise was during my tour of duty in the US Army stationed in California. I was asked to teach a class for military wives and I loved it.
Doctoral studies led to faculty positions, cookbook writing and conference speaking.
In addition to a doctoral degree in Nutrition & Health Promotion, I am a certified group fitness instructor. I retired from the Detroit Health Department (WIC Program Manager) and have been a wellness activist/entreprenuer for 30+ years. I have authored 2 cookbooks and 1 educational coloring book for youth. Additionally, I am the founder & CEO of Sweet Potato Delights, a small batch manufacturer of vegan sweet potao based foods.

I recently conducted a train the trainer sesssion for a group representing a home school coop. The attendees learned the basics of teaching double dutch jump rope to youth as well as tips for eating healthy.

Standard rate is $50 per session (30-45 minutes). Discounted pricing ($35 per session) is available for scheduled pre-paid committments of 8 sessions or more (must be prepaid when scheduled).
