About Yaraimis
I love to engage with my student not only on the academia aspect but also through the humane aspect of the child--- social and emotionally (SEL). I'm a Pre-K (3 and 4 year olds) teacher who has taught in Manhattan, Harlem, and the Bronx bourough. I'm also an active corp member of Teach for America and proud alum of the illustorious Clark Atlanta University. I'm bilingual (Spanish and English) and have services for Dual Language Learners (DLL). I'm in a Masters program for Early Childhood Education with a dual certiatipn in SPED (Special Education).
I enjoy spending time with my students by conversing throughout the day, talking about feelings in our "Cozy Corner" section of the classroom. and engaging in make-believe play.
I started getting into teaching my Sphomore year of college. I had to get an intership and got the opportunity to be a sciene teacher for 2-5 years old in Atlanta, GA (West End vinicity). The first day on the job, I wave at the children standing in line and said, "Hi!". They all said "hi" in unision and I teared it. Right then and there, I knew teaching was one of my callings in this lifetime.
I attend RELAY GSE in NYC for their Master's Program in EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION with a dual certitation in SPECIAL EDUCATION. I am actively teaching Pre-K (4yrs.) in the Bronx bourough. As well, as a active Corps Memeber for Teach of America.

Observing and interact with child to see what's the best mode of teaching for child's learning style:
1. VIsual
2. Audio
3. Kinesthetic
4. Logical
5. Linguistic
And then finding their personal interests in order to be cuturally relevant and inclusive.
Lastly, I always include SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) because it's a great concept to have student's develop from a young age.
I've worked with minority inner-city childrens, that were 3-4 year old. I've also dealt with children that needed special services and accomodations based on their IEPs.
To find a teacher that can best cater to your needs as a student and also a child. A teacher that can relate to what interest(s) you, and a teacher that you can converse, have fun, and feel comfort around.
I have so many because every day that I get to interact with my students, the more the momentums pile up. The moments I love the most is receiving hugs from my students, the cutest commentaries from them such as "Ms. Yaya, I love you","Ms. Yaya, can you sit next to me?", or a simple "Ms. Yaya, I missed you". I honestly love and appreciate all the time I can get with my students. They fill me up with joy, love, and compassion.
