About Sharon
I am currently a certified high school Spanish teacher at Lake Norman Charter School. I have been a Spanish teacher for eight years and have taught both middle and high school Spanish. I teach levels 2 and 3 presently but have taught Spanish levels 1-4 over my years in teaching. I am extremely passionate about the Spanish language and want my students to succeed above everything else.

I love to watch how my students progress from the beginning of the school year until the end. It is also very rewarding to see certain students who have struggled with Spanish, achieve success and the confidence knowing that they can learn a foreign language too.
I was a preschool teacher when my children were little. After preschool, I began teaching as a long-term substitute at Davidson Day School and shortly afterward became a full time teacher at their middle school. I spent three years there and then transferred to Lake Norman Charter School where my son was a student. I have been there ever since.
I am currently a certified K-12 Spanish teacher at Lake Norman Charter High School. I taught for 3 years at Davidson Day School and I am in my fifth year at LNC. I have taught both middle and high school students.

Firstly, I try to make the student comfortable with me by telling them a little about myself and asking them about themselves. I ask what they hope to gain from our session along with which content areas they have trouble with as well as which the areas they feel confident with. We then begin working on the content the student is struggling with. Making connections is crucial when working with students and that is something I always strive to do.
