About Deanna
FUN. DEVELOP TALENT. USE CHEAP SUPPLIES! Since I was a child I loved doing art work. In high school, college and grad school I took every art class I could and always minored in art. Painting, if you are a perfectionist like me, can be stressful because you want to get it RIGHT. My job will be to make you laugh, calm, give yourself permission to be wrong--then fix your errors. I will teach you how to make painting CHEAP because art supplies are so expensive. Also paint hacks to make your paint a certain way (adding chalk to acrylic to make it thick if you are doing something in a Van Gogh style). I'm also a stand up comic so I promise to make you laugh as well as develop talent. My personal training is to teach you how to paint the classics, Van Gogh's Starry Night, Munch's The Scream, Winslow Homer. Creating a replica of the classics really increases one's confidence. If you create a painting that looks just like a famous painting your confidence will soar. Turning photographs into a painting. Making funky art pieces. For example I love trees so I love to paint trees.

Using cheap art supplies for starters and teaching students cheap supply hacks since they are so expensive and can be a big block to start painting, especially if one is worried about ruining a canvas for example that they just pain a lot for (pssst. you can paint over it just like the pros did it). Laughter is important. Being calm and relaxed is the perfect mood to learn since being a perfectionist can be a struggle. I've done stand up comedy so I will make you laugh along with building talent. We will be painting masterpieces as well as your own ideas.
