About Gretchen
Having taught for several decades, nine of which were art, I love helping students learn new skills that will enable them to accomplish their goals. Therefore, I tailor classes to students' goals.
I love helping students as much as I do art! My idea is to teach skills that create independence so that the student can find his/her own voice in art.
Although I minored in art in college, I learned most of my beginning skills via workshops They were then enhanced through my own study of books. They were further developed through practice and experience. My last nine years of teaching were in Art in the public school at the elementary level.
I have won numerous art and teaching awards. My art has been published in art and children's magazines.
