About Robbie
Are you ready to bring your art to the next level?
Whether you are just starting out or are an experienced artist or a high school student needing help, I can teach you how to master acrylics and watercolors using the simple techniques taught in my class, techniques that will make your painting a lot less stressful and fun. We will create beautiful landscapes, portraits (animals) and still-life paintings. The classes last for 1 hour each and are broken up into one watercolor class and one acrylic class. You can choose to attend both or just one.
My name is Rob Peters (Mr. Peters to my younger students), I've been a freelance artist / Instructor for over 20 years painting in acrylics and watercolor and selling throughout the US as well as teaching art history and fine art techniques. I love sharing my techniques with my students and seeing their faces when they complete their first masterpiece. I hope I can have a chance to offer you the same positive experience as my previous and current students. Class sizes can range from individule to a full room.
Education
As a teenager I taught myself how to draw and paint. After High school, I went on to study Commercial and Fine Arts in New Orleans from 1986-1988 at Delgado Community College. I would also refine my drawing skills and receive a Certificate in “ Figure Drawing” from the New Orleans Art Institute 1987.

I first have my students bring one of their current pieces of work to the first class for me to see what level artist they are. This helps me better to prepare where to begin with the lesson; do they need to learn mixing colors first or focus just on technique. At the same time I will ask what their goal is as far as where they want to take their art.
