About Dolly
I have been doing Encaustic since June of 2017. A friend from Canada brought it to my attention.
I started with a basic craft iron, and evolved to the Encaustic iron and stylus. At first it was abstracts then I began doing sea scapes and mountain scenes. I have encorporated drawings, mainly owls.
I have 5 pieces in the Currituck County Arts Council Gallery, and am currently the secretary as well.
Not many people I have talked to around this area have heard of Encaustic Melted Wax Art. I would like to bring not only the art but the history of this beautiful relaxing technique to this area. I have taught my son, fiance, two nieces and two grandsons, they love it.
Workshops will be 2 hours you will learn some fun facts, tools, technique, and most of all how the flow of the wax helps melt away anxiety, depression, and stress.
I am able to teach one on one or a group of three. Location: I can come to you or we can set up at the Gallery from 6pm-8pm or on Saturdays 10am-12 pm 1pm-3pm by appointment.
I am currently looking for closer accommodations in the Va Beach and Chesapeake area.
Wavers will be provided for children due to the fact we are using heated tools.
Ages:
4-12 with parental supervision and waver.
12-18 with parental permission and waver.
Adults over 18
Families workshops and party workshops are welcome.
I love how the flow of the creations need no intentions.
I love how you lose yourself in the creations and find yourself at the same time.
I love to socialize and help bring out the creativity hidden inside those who feel they cannot create.
