About Tarp
I earned my black belt in 1976 and started my first class at Music City Health Spa in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
I have a Masters Degree in Education.

We begin training by learning warm-up, conditioning, stretching exercises and the basics. The basic movements are the essence of the art and the foundation on which all advanced techniques are built. This is followed by learning basic forms, 3-step and one-step sparring, free fighting, breaking and self-defense.
I have taught many elite clientele as far as celebrities and wealthy people. More importantly, I have trained military, police and security forces. I have really taught a variety of folks from assorted backgrounds including martial arts instructors. I have worked with handicapped people and individuals with developmental disabilities. Anyone can learn.
My advice is hire me or another Kong black belt because grandmaster Kong no longer teaches. lol Generally, you want someone with experience and skill in the martial arts system you want to learn. It is an important decision that will affect every aspect of your life. In Asian countries it is considered almost as important as choosing a religion. This is not generic Eat at Joe's Karate. It is a journey that will transform your abilities and improve your quality of life tremendously.
An upcoming martial arts event I am interested in going to is the Battle of Atlanta in June. It is the worlds largest martial arts competition.
