My name is Cristy Anderson, and I have been sewing since I was a little girl. Now at age 52, I have been teaching almost 16 years. I was located in Mississippi, but my family just moved to Rock Hill, SC right outside the Charlotte area. I can come to you if I know you, or you can come to me or to another (safe) location. I will have a location probably within the next year.
I am a good teacher. I'm not an expert seamstress - meaning I don't teach fancy ballgowns, but I am good at teaching beginning and intermediate sewing so you WILL know how to use your machine and make some great projects. ps - So...how did I come up with Aerybeth?? It is my daughter's first and middle name together - I thank my sis in law Jessica for coming up with it. I started making hairbows when she was born and then clothing - found out I couldn't keep up with requests. So.... I started teaching how to make them instead! :)
I absolutely love teaching... I love seeing the face of children and adults when they get it! I have had so many come to me that were afraid to try because of a bad experience in school long ago, or they were afraid of the needle. When they leave with a completed project and no fear... that just is awesome!
I am so glad I do something I love!

About the lesson

I start with whether they have a sewing machine at all or if they need recommendations. Then I see what their initial level is - beginner or never touched a machine. We go from there.. basics first - threading, running a bobbin, basic stitches. I also find out what their interests are - what would you like to sew? Then we just jump in! :)

I enjoyed the class settings & the ease of it.
Cristy is a wonderful teacher. My daughter and I both took separate lessons from her. She was patient and kind with both of us and the lessons were done so that an 8y/o and a 40+y/o could understand. We now both have confidence with our sewing abilities so much so, that I joined a ladies sewing group this year. And Caitlyn has no fear to make what she wants. I highly recommend Cristy!

Lots of cool sewing projects
Cristy is amazing!!! She is such a patient and caring teacher. She’s uniquely gifted to teach sewing to kids and adults alike! I have had three daughters take several over Cristys classes over the past 8 years. They all loved it.
Cristy was so great to work with. She was so patient and gave me everything I needed to start making clothes for my kids. I eventually started making appliqué clothing for friends and family as well. I would have never had the knowledge to take that step without her guidance!
Cristy is amazing with your children, soo patient and compassionate. She’s Very knowledgeable about all concepts of sewing. My daughter took classes with her for several years and enjoyed it so much! They make beautiful projects.
I loved taking lessons when I was in elementary school! What I learned about sewing has stayed with me all through high school and now into college. So glad I was able to learn from Christy!
