About Polly
I've lived in oahu since 2006 and I have been coaching swimming since 2002. I greatly enjoy the sport of swimming and passing on my lifetime love of swimming to others. From a very young age I was an excellent swimmer, however I only swam in a handful of races because I played numerous other sports. In high school I was a three sport varsity athlete. In college I sailed for the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where I graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have taught swimming lessons, coached swimming, sailing lessons, coached sailing, and been a lifeguard for many years. I fondly look forward to coaching this wonderful sport for many more years to come. I am a certified lifeguard and USA swim coach.
I have been a highschool teacher since January 2014, I am completing my masters in educaiton degree.

Ask them about their swimming experience and what they want to achieve in the lesson. Decide a good time to meet and choose a location.
I have worked with all types of students, those with a lifetime fear of the water, those who have zero swim experience and students who have been swimming for years. I have taken athletes to state qualifying events.
Have a pool in mind that we can swim at, unless you want to go to the beach.
Last year I participated in 7 sprint triathalons and 2 oylmpic triathalons. Ocean swims are my favorite and ocean swim races are even better!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should express their needs, I do not have a problem talking about a students needs with them.
