About Lauren
My undergraduate degree was in Film Studies and English, which taught me how to read and analyse texts, and how to formulate an argument in essay form.
My masters degree was in Science for Geography. My focus was on human geography, which means I focused on how humans interact with their environment across time and space.
I am also a fully qualified English as a Second Language teacher, and I have training in proofreading and copyediting. I have been tutoring in environmental science at the University for two years and absolutely love it.

Each lesson will begin with a discussion around learning goals and desired outcomes. Then together we will discuss the activities based on your preferences. For example, some students respond well to independent tasks that are then reviewed together, some prefer discussion based, some prefer a methodical breakdown of the text at hand. The lesson will end with some suggestions for further research or areas of improvement. Lessons ideal for Secondary English through to university level.
My speciality is in reading and interpreting texts, structuring essays, and in providing detailed and helpful feedback on essay drafts.
